Traveling, exposing oneself to exotic and unfamiliar environments has always been considered a necessary activity for the formation of people’s character.

Between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries the so-called Grand Tour was an activity that every person who wanted a good education had to perform at least once in a lifetime.

It was a journey through Western Europe, especially to countries that had seen the birth of the foundations of Western civilization such as Italy, also the cradle of the Renaissance or cultured France. The most daring even went to Greece, under Muslim rule.

From that innate desire to know more, to see that there is beyond the limits of the places where we have been lucky enough to be born, has been born that lineage of travelers over several centuries. From these bold, we have received a copious amount of thoughts, quotes and perspectives of this simple but at the same time extraordinary activity of travel.

We collect here some of them, left by some famous people.
